About John Bradford Brandon

A graduate of the London College of Furniture now known as London Guildhall University, London, England, John specializes in product, furniture and cabinetry designs that are cost-effective, energy efficient, reduce waste and increase employee productivity without compromising aesthetic design, functionality and pragmatic appeal. For two years John was the designer for Herman Miller office furniture in Canada. John immigrated to the United States to design TV and stereo electronics cabinetry for GTE Sylvania.

After starting Aerie Design Services, John invented the hutch for computer desks which became the standard for PC work stations around the world. His designs have sold over $1.8 billion at retail and increased client sales by 100% in the first year. His design experience also includes interior design and planning of showrooms in New York City, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Los Angles, Miami, Atlanta, and Seattle, as well as offices, houses, churches, libraries, exhibitions and auditoriums.

With over 35 years of diversified design experience, John has focused on creating well-designed proportional kitchen and bath cabinetry, office furniture systems, computer workstations, living room wall systems, library and dormitory furniture, and entertainment and electronic products that are both functional and contribute aesthetically to the individual environment.

While visiting his parents, residents of long term assisted living facilities, John identified a need for more functional yet homelike furniture to improve the quality of life for senior residents. John invented and designed a line of easily accessible, homelike furniture for the aging and developmentally challenged. Working with a New York manufacturer, the furniture was patented, prototyped and beta tested within regional and national senior residential and disabled community homes. Results of the beta tests were all positive from the facility leadership and staff, as well as individual residents. John now serves as President & CEO of Aerie Home, LLC that manufactures, markets and sells the "My Companion" line of Easily Accessible Furniture. Please visit www.mycompanionusa.com

John has been a guest speaker at conferences and given numerous lectures on design throughout the United States and Great Britain. Most recently, he presented lectures to architects, interior designers and facility owners at the Conference of Environments for Aging in Tucson, AZ; the Design Center in Washington, D.C.; the ADAC Design Center in Atlanta, GA; the National AIA Convention, NYC; Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY; and Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY.
